18th May 2006 - There's a new addition to the Marsh household - welcome Lyla Plum Marsh!!!!

I've got the flu. I am a snivelling wreck. My nose is runny and my throat hurts. But, and it's a BIG but...... I've got a new puppy!!!!!!! She's a baby bulldog called Lyla Plum Marsh (or just Lyla for short). She's 7 weeks old and the cutest thing I've laid eyes on since the last time I looked at Paddy ;)

Yesterday I was in a meeting all afternoon about doing the TV show 'It's Me or the Dog'. That's the show where they come and train your naughty dogs. Since I've got seven in total (now 8 including Lyla), and four of those are very naughty Chihuahuas, I'm really up for the show. Paddy (my other bulldog) is as good as gold but the little gang of Mexicans pee all over the floor and have been totally un-trainable from day one. Since we were talking about the dogs all day and lately I've been hankering after getting another one (I needed to make the numbers even), I decided at 5pm that I NEEDED another bulldog. I surfed the net for Breeders in Essex and by 8pm was sitting on my living room floor with a tiny wrinkly bundle of joy crawling all over me. Lyla is the most beautiful thing in the world. She's smaller than my smallest Chihuahua (Bean) and feels like velvet to touch. She's got a little screwed up face and looks really grumpy. She's not grumpy (just that ALL bulldogs look grumpy), she's a bundle of fun and when she's not asleep all she wants to do is play. Within one day I have managed to get her to pee and poo on the puppy training mats I've got! She truly is the most delightful thing ever known to man!

Paddy isn't 100% sure of her yet but last night in bed they did have a little cuddle. I'm sure that as she gets a bit bigger he'll fall in love with her but right now he doesn't quite understand that there is a girl version of him in the house, only the size of a hamster.

I've got nothing else to say; apart from I'm doing the Weakest Link again tomorrow. I'm taking Lyla with me as I don't want to leave her on her own for one minute. I'll get some pictures up soon. I'm feeling rough as hell but I'm floating on clouds in a blissful haze of a velvet wrinkled puppy. I'm off to bed now. Sleeping is a bit awkward at the moment as I have to put pillows all around the outside edge of the bed so that Lyla doesn't fall out in the night!! I couldn't think of anything better now though than being with my babies in bed.

From me and from Patrick Reginald Marsh and Lyla Plum Marsh; hope your life is as joyous as mine right now.............

I'm in heaven!!!!

xxxxx
