I've had soooooo mush fun today! I was woken at 5.30am by Lashes yelling "it's snowing!" I mumbled something and went back to sleep only to be woken again by him at 6am asking if I would take him to the station. I got up, looked out the window, saw 2ft of snow covering everything and said "are you joking?" He insisted that he needed to get there somehow and I told him (having lived in the countryside all my life) that there was NO WAY we'd be able to get to the station (it's 4 miles of bendy, hilly, country lanes) but that I would give it a go for him. So, at 6.10am we made it 50 yards down the road in my huge four wheel drive before we got stuck in a huge pile of snow and the wheels started spinning. I started jokingly screaming at Lashes (I was pretending to be annoyed but really I was laughing as I was shouting) "You idiot! I TOLD you we wouldn't get anywhere! We're snowed in!" I was still joke shouting when a guy a few houses down came out and helped us get the car out of the ditch. By then we had seen two other cars go into a ditch and a five-car pile up at the bottom of a hill!
We eventually made it back to my house, whereby Lashes realised he wasn't going to make it into work (not until late afternoon at least anyway). We immediately put warm clothes, moon boots and hats on and got the dogs outside to play in the snow. My next door neighbours Nikki and Dave had also realised there was no way of driving in the deep snow so they too had taken the day off work. We all played around outside (in the middle of the road too as there were no cars on it) and giggled excitedly as we threw snowballs for the dogs to catch. Paddy spent an hour eating it (and loving it) and Lyla just got mega-hyper and rolled around in it and pestered Paddy. After playing for an hour or so the four of us decided to take Paddy and Lyla over to the local country park and Stiffy and Lauren came to meet us too. All the schools in Brentwood were closed so Lauren was off work and Stiffy too couldn't get to the station. Luckily the park is in walking distance so we all met there and went for a 5 mile walk. After that we fed the ducks and then went up to the top of the giant hill (which everyone sledges down). We didn't have a sledge (we were waiting for Jord to bring one) but as we stood there, Nikki suddenly spotted a lone sledge lying on the floor. We all took it in turns to go down the enormous hill (screaming the whole way down) and me and Lashes were the last to go. While we were climbing back up the hill afterwards a three year old girl approaches Lashes (who is carrying the sledge) and says "Excuse me! That's my sledge!" Lashes apologised profusely and spent the rest of the day cringing with embarrassment.
Luckily Jord arrived not long after with our sledge (and his friend Una) so we all had another go on that. We had so mush fun that before we knew it, it was 2pm and we were all hungry and freezing cold.
We took the dogs home and by then the roads had turned to a dirty slush so we piled in my car and went to the carvery for 6 veggie dinners! After that we popped to the pub for a coffee and then me and Lashes came home to have a cuddle on the sofa. Stiffy, Jord and Una have been back round tonight to watch a film (we watched The Devil Wears Prada - didn't rate it at all! Just another story about how a girl gives up her career for a whinging man!) and I am now writing this while Jordan is trying to educate everyone about music (they are watching a documentary about soul music).
Today has been excellent! From getting up at 6am and being the first people out in the snow (and the first to put a car in the ditch) to sledging, snowball fights, rolling giant snowballs and eating hot soup - it's been fun with a capital F from start to finish! Something about the snow brings out the child in all of us! Poor Lashes was so worried about not making it to work but we did try! To be honest, like I said, I knew full well that we wouldn't make it up the country lanes but I wanted to prove a point to him and at least give it a go! It was funny anyway! When we got the car back to mine (and after Paddy and Lyla had played in the snow for a while), me and Nikki and Dave contemplated setting up a stall selling tea and cakes to all the people who had attempted to drive down our road and got stuck and given up. There were cars stuck everywhere and cars in ditches. Everywhere you looked were men in suits trudging about, not knowing what to do about their cars that were now off-road!
I love living in the countryside for all the obvious reasons but actually I realised today that another great reason to live here is that you get snowed in and it's fun!!! I LOVE being snowed in!
Changing the subject now I watched (and made Lashes watch) a video on Peta's website last night. The website is www.peta.org.uk and the video is in the Peta TV section. It's called Meet your Meat and it made me cry. I'm going to try and embed it at the bottom of this blog but if it's not there then take a look at the website! Seriously; it'll make you realise just how sick the meat trade is and how what you're putting in your mouth is wrong! (if you still eat dead animals that is). Also, for all those animal-eating people; it's just a good insight as to exactly WHAT you are eating! Hideous stuff but compulsive viewing. If everyone could see this video, the world would be a better place! Another place you can watch it is on my Myspace - I put it on there today and already have had about twenty messages from people saying "I am never eating dead animals again after watching that video!" - woohooooo!
I won't go into a massive rant about it now (cos it's 1am) but I can feel a rant coming on in the next few days! Watch this space. Mine and Lashes' new tattoos are starting to itch now which means they are healing up! They both look the nuts! I keep trying to make other bets with him now. I'm determined to find a way to get "give peas a chance!" on his other arm! Ha ha. Earlier he said to me "did you know that all white cats are deaf" and I tried to bet him on it (knowing full well I could probably find at least one in the whole world that's not). He refused, saying "I'm not betting on any animal facts with you ever again!" Spoilsport!
So peeps I am off to bed now. I've got to physically throw Jordan out cos he will be here all night waffling about the state of the music industry and how sad it is. Hope you all had fun in the snow today (if you had any). I know that Essex had loads and I loved it!!!!!
All my love Jodie x x x
P.S Quote for the day "Some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it"
P.P.S my Myspace is www.myspace.com/youwishiwasyourbird
P.P.P.S right.... b*llocks! I don't have the right code for the video! Like I said though - you can view it on my myspace or on the Peta website www.peta.org.uk - please watch it. Don't feed dead animals (rotting flesh) to your children and don't put it in your own mouth. This is the most shocking thing you will ever see! Just take 5 minutes to watch it please. It's not just for the good of the animals; it's for your own good too! Trust me - everyone NEEDS to see this!!! If only TV were this good - 900 bloody channels I've got and not a damn thing worth watching on any of them!
Lastly; here's a wicked little ode a girl called Emma wrote about me! Love it!
My Ode To Jodie:
Jodie Marsh, what a girl,
Most other models make me hurl.
She's a bloody beauty - outside & in,
She's level headed in a world full of sin.
I like her cause she's so damn real,
An Essex bird, like me I truly feel.
I'm drawn to her like a moth to a flame,
Not in a sexual way (well actually, if your game??).
I despair of the "OTHER" model, what a minger,
Jodies' more beauty in her little finger.
I love to read her daily blog,
What she's up to (she includes her dog) aah
A stunning, sexy 100% babe,
What a fuc**** prick that knob head Dave.
Well done for gettin rid, he did you no good,
but you found that out like I knew you would.
You see Jodie your clued up, 200% hard core,
And i'll love ya now and 4evr more xx
