Well hi there!
I have had a very nice day today. After a late night last night on my own (I stayed in and read a book! Boring I know, but thoroughly enjoyable!), I was woken today by Lauren banging on the door. We slobbed out in front of the TV and then went over to mum and dad's for dinner. After dinner, we came back to my new house and have been in front of the TV ever since. I've done an interview for Radio 5 Live about bullying (which was really sad cos a young girl also on the show was in tears; but great for raising yet more awareness) and am now writing this blog.
I must tell you about last Friday - why it was so great and why I was so tired:
Thursday night, Kyle was still here and we stayed up chatting til really late. We eventually crawled into bed at 5am and I had to be up an hour later at 6am. I left Kyle sleeping, got ready and got picked up at 7am. I was driven to Donington race track. I was opening the new facilities there and had been asked to cut the ribbon etc. Firstly - I LOVE Donington. It's the home of the British Moto GP (anyone who knows anything about me knows that it's my favourite sport in the world and that I WILL end up marrying Valentino Rossi). I was thrilled to be asked to be there and plus, with the opening came 20 VIP tickets to the Superbikes and the GP. Woooooohooooo. Life doesn't get better than that folks.
Anyway, the day before the opening, my agent Jeff calls me and says "They want you to get on the back of a bike for a pillion ride around the track. You want to do it?" HELL YEAH! Do I want to do it?! Are you kidding? I jumped at the chance! When I arrive at Donington, I find out that not only do I get a pillion ride around the track but that it's Ron Haslam (multi world champion bike racer) who's taking me. So, as I jump on the back of his bike fully clad in my sexy bike gear and helmet, he starts saying stuff like "hold on really tight, the braking is really hard, you have to push on the tank..." etc. I gently lean over and say "I do actually ride myself - it's ok, I know how to do it", Ron looks happily surprised and says "what bike do you ride?" - "An R6" I tell him. He looks shocked. "Blimey", he says "well, sorry for that, I feel silly for trying to tell you what to do. Can I go for it then?" (meaning can he go for it on the bike with me on the back) "yes Ron" I answer "Really go for it!"
Well, we did four laps. My knee touched the floor on the corners and we did a wheelie on every straight (which meant a total of 8 wheelies). The G force was so strong that the first time he opened the throttle up I went dizzy. It was the best experience of my life! You all know how amazing jumping out of an aeroplane was for me..... well, this topped it! Seriously it was the biggest buzz of my life. The first time he did a wheelie in front of all the press and VIP's gathered on the pit wall, the whole crowd gasped and then screamed. Jo, my publicist, who was standing in the crowd said it was the funniest reaction ever. Everyone went nuts! Then of course, the people who didn't know I have an extremely fast sports bike of my own (including some of the top people at Donington) started saying things like "Make him stop! She'll be terrified!" Jo was running round screaming "No, she'll be loving every second of it! Seriously, she's fine!" Fine? I was more than fine. I couldn't stop smiling for the whole day. My cheeks hurt from smiling in the end. In fact, I still haven't come down off my high.
I can honestly say that it was the most fun I've ever had. When we finally came to a stop, I shouted "F*ck!" in Ron's ear and he laughed for about 5 minutes. We then did a load of pictures and went to have some lunch. Donington had laid on the biggest and best spread I've ever seen, which we thoroughly enjoyed and then we stayed around to chat to everyone. I did about 5 radio interviews and also some interviews for various different bike magazines. Eventually we left and I got home at 5.30pm.
Being taken round the very track that Rossi races on and doing the same speed as him has definitely made me appreciate the sport even more than I already do (if that's possible). It was yet another thing on my list of "Things to do before I die" that has now been ticked off. And so far, of that list, it was the most enjoyable. I now CANNOT WAIT til the GP itself in July. Every time I even think about it I go all tingly!
So, after getting home at 5.30pm, my parents call and ask if I'm going to my brother's gig at the Sports Café in London. I tell them yes and they tell me they are leaving at 6.30pm. That gave me an hour to freshen up and change my clothes. Bang on half-six, they were beeping their horn on my drive and the whole way to London was spent telling them all about my brilliant day. When we got to the venue, we sat in the restaurant and ordered food. After we'd eaten, we joined Dave, Russ, Max, Becky, Lauren and a load of other mates on the dance floor. By then I was fading fast. After having had an hours sleep plus the most exciting day of my life, all I wanted to do was go to bed. Instead Lauren found me a chair and I sat on it in the middle of the dance floor like some sort of queen, while everyone danced around me. I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. I apologise to anyone who was there that thought I was being moody or boring - I honestly felt like I was going to pass out with sheer exhaustion! Anyway, I ended up offering to drive the parental units home so that they could have a cheeky drink and just after midnight, I drove everyone home.
I didn't get to bed til about 3am cos I went to the Manors to do a blog and show my mum and dad the pictures of me and Ron doing a wheelie (they had been emailed to me straight away).
Yesterday, which was Saturday I had a really long lie in and didn't leave my house all day. I had quite a bit of work to do, including retrieving all my pictures my computer. I'm updating the pictures in the updated autobiography too! My dad came over to do some more DIY for me, which included hanging 3 black and white pictures on my bedroom wall of me and Paddy, hanging a nude picture of a man and woman in my hallway (an amazing xmas present from marge and parge) and putting more towel rails up in my big bathroom.
Last night I didn't fancy going out so stayed in with Paddy, the TV and a great Jackie Collins book. I recently purchased 24 of her books that I haven't yet read and plan to read them all in the next month. I'm collecting ideas and styles for my own novel and since my first one is going to be like her books (ie. Based on true showbiz events and people) then it seems right to read all of the biggest selling showbiz-style novels. Next week I have quite a bit of work on, not to mention parties. I'm not really in the mood for partying at the moment so I don't yet know if I'm going to go to any but if I do I'll give you all the gossip.
I turned down 5 parties this week: a couple of magazine parties and new club openings. At the moment I would just rather concentrate on researching my next book and also on being in my favourite place at the moment - my new house. The only thing getting me excited about leaving it is anything to do with bikes, as you've probably guessed.
There was no Moto GP on today, the next one is next week. I can't wait for it. Now that the season has started I will be glued to my screen on Sundays and if not at home watching, I'll be at the actual races. It's my aim to make it out to Valencia for the last race of the season (preferably on Rossi's arm). Last year I went to the British and German GPs, which were the best things I did all year. Nothing gets me going like watching a load of fit men on bikes and the GP is just something else. Anyone else who's into it will know that Rossi didn't get off to a great start this year but I'm sure that come Sunday, he'll be back on top form.
The radio interview I just did on the phone was hilarious for one reason: Paddy. I went upstairs to the bedroom cos Lauren was watching TV in the main lounge so I thought I'd go somewhere quiet. Paddy followed me up and was as good as gold. He sat by my side, not making a sound while I waited to go on air. As soon as I started talking, he went and got his favourite toy; a fluffy duck (which makes duck quacking noises when you squeeze it) and spent the next ten minutes biting it so that in the background of my whole interview was "waaaa waaaa". The dog is a nightmare. I eventually managed to get him to go downstairs and Lauren shut him in the room with her so I could carry on in peace.
Hope you all had a great weekend. I certainly did. I'm going to be dreaming of Ron Haslam and wheelies forever more..... What a legend!!!

He's the best raw talent this country has to offer. Listen and weep people..... The track My Time Is Right just about sums up how he feels (as do I) about wanting to succeed in life. I LOVE it!!!!!
