27th May 2006 - Where have all the fit men gone?

Phew.... Filming for 'It's Me or the Dog' came to an end yesterday. It's been a long tough week! Victoria has been amazing though and she actually got the Chihuahuas to sit!!!!! After an obedience lesson, she said "sit" and they sat!! What's that all about?! The Chihuahuas pretend to be deaf whenever I speak to them (unless it's to say "do you want some dinner?"). Anyway, I've loved every second of it. Victoria took me to the Essex Dog Training Centre yesterday and I watched (in awe) a Chihuahua do a whole assault course. We then managed to get Teddy doing jumps and Baby and Bean going through tunnels. Tommy sat in the sound-man's arms being gay and refusing to do anything. In a couple of weeks I am doing a photoshoot with all the dogs for the front cover of a magazine and the team are coming back to film that too for the program. Victoria has told me that I now have two weeks to get the dogs behaving so that when I take them to the studio for the shoot, they don't pee on the floor or act up! I have SERIOUSLY got my work cut out!

On Thursday night, Jordan had a gig at Ivory Rooms. Since all the film crew were staying at a hotel near me for the week, I asked them if they all fancied a night out at the gig. Five of them came (including Victoria) and we had a really good night. It was nearly the end of the week and we needed it! We all got on brilliantly and it was nice to all go out together. Unbeknown to Victoria, all my boy mates fancied her and haven't stopped going on about her. They've all been imagining her in bondage gear whipping them into shape!!!

I finished filming at 7pm last night, came home and got showered and changed and an hour later Lauren picked me and Stevie up and we drove to London. Jord had a gig at Sport's Café. All the gang were there; Tony, Pants, Rusty, Becky etc. When the gig finished me Lauren and Steve went to China Whites with Kyle and his brother (who was down from Wales for the night celebrating his birthday - Happy Birthday Kaine!). China Whites was dry. By that, I mean no fit men. I tried to get Justin the student out (you'll remember him from previous blog) but even he wasn't having any of it. He did ask if I was free to go out for some food this weekend but I'm not getting too excited. Justin always texts and has even sent postcards from abroad but never actually has any time to do anything. Not taking anything away from my amazing friends, but sometimes it's nice to see other people and have different conversations. That's why I invited Justin out. Plus, you can never have enough friends! Stevie was in his element with all the Welsh boys and Lauren was falling asleep by 2am. Mind you, I wasn't exactly the life and soul of the party. After the week I've had, a night in with a take-away and a dvd would have been better than clubbing I think!

Steve has been amazing this week; he's been at home with me the whole time looking after Lyla while I've been filming. He has officially become surrogate mum to her!! She loves him!

Today I have tried to catch up on some sleep (that meant I fell asleep on the sofa for an hour after Paddy and Lyla's breakfast!). Lyla has had me up at 5.30am every morning this week so I'm absolutely knackered! I've also been to the vets with Lyla and Paddy. Lyla had her first injection and Paddy has a little lump on his eye that I wanted the vet to look at. They are both now tearing round the living room playing with all the new toys I bought them earlier when I popped in Brentwood.

I've also been food shopping round Sainsburys with my mum and dad today which was nice. You can't beat a bit of food shopping. Problem is, I always do it when I'm hungry and end up buying twice as mush as I need. Mind you, I've filled my fridge with fresh fruit and chocolate sponge puddings so it's all good!!

Jordan has just arrived. We're trying to decide what to do tonight. To be honest I'm so tired that I'd be happy sitting in with the pups but at the same time, it IS a Saturday night and I'd feel like I was wasting the weekend if I stayed in and did nothing. Tony is up for doing something too but everyone else is busy. Rusty has a showcase gig in London tonight, Lauren is in Brighton with her cousin - she's flying to Canada with him tomorrow morning, Kyle has 20 Welsh boys to look after, I've got no idea where Michelle is and Steve is at a friend's house. That leaves me Tony and Jord with no clue what to do. We're bored of going out in Brentwood and London is rubbish (the clubs have gone so downhill). No where seems to play good music anymore, there are NEVER any fit men out and if I have to hear one more time "I felt really sorry for you in Big Brother" I think I'll go mad.

Take last night for example, a guy starts chatting to me in China Whites. He seemed really nice and was saying all the normal nice things I hear every time I go out eg. "you get such a hard time from the Press" and "people get you so wrong" etc. Then, he comes out with "I mean, take Wednesday, for example, there was a really nasty piece about you in the paper, they were really slagging you off. I don't know how you deal with it!" Well, I don't read papers mate and until you told me there was a nasty piece, I didn't know. Thank you for telling me about the one thing I try my best to totally avoid, so lovely of you. That has DEFINITELY made my night better. Not. Please go away and keep your mouth shut. I'm not interested. It doesn't make for interesting conversation, in fact it's very boring. I avoid looking at anything that might be negative and therefore I would appreciate it if people didn't tell me about it anyway, without any regard for the fact that I am on a night out with my friends and might not want to talk about my job or the thing that makes me want to give it all up. Jeeeez!

The point is, unless some amazing event is taking place, or I go out in a huge crowd or I get so drunk I'm past the point of caring (or being civil) then I can't be arsed with nights out right now. I'd love to think I could go out tonight and meet a lovely fit young man (just to look at of course), have a laugh with my mates and go home happy and laughing but I just know it won't happen. Everywhere I go it's the same old story. People come up to me every two seconds saying "Big Brother was awful" and the one I ALWAYS get is: "I bet you get really bored of people coming up to you and wanting to talk to you, don't you?" - erm..... if you are asking that question in the first place then surely you already know the answer. I'm not being ungrateful or horrid, it's just that I smile and nod at 500 people a night asking the same question over and over again. I wish for once, someone would come up to me and say "wasn't it a terrible shame for Valentino Rossi on Sunday" or something similar. And I wish there were fit men. I don't know what's happened lately but I never seem to see any good-looking men. When a girl gets all dressed up for a night out, she wants to at least see a bit of eye candy. It makes the effort of getting ready worth it. Right now I'm dressing up to impress Russ, my brother and Tony and that's not good. They wouldn't care if I went out in a black sack! Maybe I'm just getting fussy in my old age but I can't remember the last time I got excited when I was on a night out over a good-looking guy. There was the 21 year old a few weeks ago I had a cheeky snog with but even that didn't light my fire - it just softly tickled it.

now demand to know where all the fit men go on a night out. If anyone knows, please let me know. I can't take any more nights of getting excited, putting on my finest clobber and my £700 shoes only to stand and watch tumble weed roll through the door of the club. Fit men - WHERE ARE YOU???

Changing the subject, I'm loving these long light nights. It's nearly 9pm and it's still light out. What joy! Summer is nearly here! I get to wear rolled up jeans and flip flops and cowboy hats and hippie beads! Not that there's anyone who's gonna care!

So, Tony is on his way over now. I think we might all end up staying in with the dogs. Jord's got a gig tomorrow anyway so we'll have a session for that. Hope you're all having a fantastic weekend. Lots of love

xxxxxx
