23rd December 2005 - IT'S MY BIRTHDAY (and I'll cry if I want to)!!!!!

It's my birthday, yo Jodie, it's your birthday.... Seventeen today!!!! Ha ha. I wish. It is my birthday though and this morning I woke up in Glasgow. As a treat for me, Dimples had arranged to fly me to Glasgow for the last gig of the Ocean Colour Scene tour. I didn't know a thing about it, although all my mates did as they were phoning me constantly saying "do you know where you're going yet?" and squealing when I said "no". We got up yesterday morning and Dimples told me to pack an overnight bag. I worried for ages over what clothes to take cos, being a girl, these things are very important. He told me "smart casual" so I packed a nice pair of jeans, a white woolly jumper and high-heeled loafers then we set off to Stansted, with me still not having a clue where we were going. We arrive in Glasgow and get a cab to an extremely swanky hotel. Once inside the room, Dimples tells me to ring a number from my phone. As he calls out the number and I press send, it comes up " Calling Sal Craddock". She then answers and explains that I am here for the last gig of the tour and that we are going to have an after party for my birthday with all the band!! Then, we have showers, get ready and get a taxi to a Chinese restaurant where we sit and have dinner with Steve Craddock and Sally, their two kids and Sally's friend Myra. After that, we go over to the venue and sit in the dressing room with the rest of the band (who I joked with that we were now stalking them) until they went on stage. We watched the whole concert from the VIP balcony. It was just as amazing the second time around. Steve rocked the whole place and pulled off some dance moves that deserved a gold medal. He is truly the coolest person (along with Paul Weller) I think I've ever met! After the gig, we went back to their dressing room and cracked open the stellas. We only stayed for about half an hour as we all wanted to get back to the hotel and have a drink there.

Once back at the hotel bar, me Dimps, Sally, Steve, Myra and Simon (the lead singer) all sat and got very drunk. When it turned midnight, they all sung "Happy birthday" to me and Steve bought me a bottle of champagne. It was really lovely. I got bought a bottle of champagne and sung happy birthday to by Steve Craddock from Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller fame!!! Woooooooooh! I must be the luckiest girl in the whole world!

So, we got to bed at about 4am, after drunkenly waffling for hours, me and Steve singing "Town Called Malice" at the tops of our voices and knocking about 5 drinks over. We all kissed goodnight in the lift and I woke up at 7am to a bloke knocking on the door saying "you requested a wake up call Miss Marsh". Filth. So, I have not long been back, I've had some wicked pressies off my mum and dad. They got me a Dualit stainless steel toaster, a dark wooden really tall vase and some twigs to go in it and an amazing huge dark wooden mirror all for the new house. They are so lush! Lauren has just arrived and she gave me a book and whole kit on astrology, complete with astrology cards, a laughing bag (a little sack with a big smiley face that laughs hysterically when you press his belly) and a giant bag of candy floss. I told her I didn't want presents so she's very naughty!! I loved them though. In a bit I am going into Brentwood to do the rest of my Christmas shopping. It's so bad but this year I have been so unorganised. Christmas has snuck up on me and I didn't even see it coming. I can't believe it's my birthday and I am sitting in the smokey study putting pictures up on the site in between writing this. Lauren's words to me as she walked in the door were "I thought that since it's your birthday, you might have actually been in a different room of the house, but no, apparently not - you're still sitting here!" I seem to live in this room at the moment! The thing is, I love doing my blog now and actually feel stressed if I don't do it for a few days. It's comforting to me as well. Kind of like an old friend I can rant to and express my feeling honestly without having someone tell me I'm wrong or trying to give me a solution. It's just a problem at the moment cos I've got about 500 pictures to upload (More of the Modfather Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene and of course, my party). When it's all done, it'll be worth it though. I'm just gonna be sat here for another 5 days at this rate!

Tonight I am going to one of my favourite restaurants with my mum and dad and brother and Dimples and Lauren. It's a greek meze restaurant called Vrisaki. I can't wait! After that I am going to Sugar Hut to meet Sarah, Steve, Jonny and Dave to get absolutely b*lloxed. I'm still shaking from last night's drinking session so I need another good one to feel better. I have to go and give Dimples a hug now to say thank you for last night. I've barely spoken to him today (a combination of being hugely hungover and being in a mood with him cos I'm not gonna see him Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year's Eve (he's got other plans). Hope you are all excited at the thought of Santa coming and I'll chat again when I have time.....
