Hello there. I'm in pain. Lots of it. My back pain (which I think is a kidney infection) is giving me hell. On Saturday it had eased lots and was totally gone by Sunday. Today though, it's back in full force. I'm not happy. I am sitting writing this hunched over the keyboard as I can't sit up straight. Tomorrow I will have to go back to the doctors and see a different one for a second opinion. I know it's not just a back ache. Anyway, enough of my moaning....
Yesterday I went to Donington for the British Superbikes with my mum and dad. We were all very excited to go but unfortunately as soon as we arrived, the heavens opened and it chucked it down all day. We ended up watching the races on the TV inside Suzuki's hospitality suite. The same happened at the Moto GP last year. I was going out with Shakey (Shane Byrne) at the time and he crashed on the first corner due to the heavy rain. It was that bad, the riders couldn't even see where they were going! Yesterday bikes were crashing out left, right and centre. It wasn't pretty. Shane (who is now back riding for BSB) crashed on the 5th lap but because it got stopped just after that, his crash wasn't counted. James Haydon (the other Suzuki rider - see gallery for when I walked him out onto the grid) crashed too. Everyone was really disappointed but we still managed to have a nice time and I got given a new Suzuki/Rizla jacket. I LOVE the freebies. I've got a whole wardrobe dedicated to all the free motorbike gear I've been given. The Suzuki ones are especially nice though because they are bright blue and yellow. Very nice for Summer.
We got home around 7pm. I made myself a vege-burger and then my mate Jon came to pick me up. We went for a drink in the newly refurbished Slug and Lettuce in Brentwood and then took his two mates Tony and Gemma over to the Sugar Hut for my brother's gig. The gig was really good, at the end the usual happened and the crowd wouldn't let Jordan finish. They shouted for more and he ended up playing for another half an hour. Lauren and the parental units also met us at the gig. After that I came home and waited up for Jordan. He popped over for a cup of tea and a sandwich and then I went to bed when he left.
Today I have been trying to sort out car insurance for my new car. I can't pick it up until I have insurance. Being Jodie Marsh and sorting out insurance is not the easiest thing in the world, let me tell you. I got a load of well-known insurance company numbers off the internet and then started ringing round. The first 5 I called said that they couldn't insure imported cars. The next 2 said they couldn't insure me because I'm famous. I carried on and after phoning another ten and being told each time that they either couldn't insure imports or that they couldn't insure famous people, I started to get the hump. When I did get a quote eventually it was for £2000. My dad has bought the same car as me and had managed to get insurance for £500 (I did obviously try his insurance company but they "don't insure celebrities"). I thought they were taking the piss a bit in quoting me two grand. I have full no claims bonus. I haven't had an accident in ten years. Each time I have to give my name, they say "is that THE Jodie Marsh off the telly?" - when getting insurance you are not allowed to lie about anything or else if you do need to claim they can deny you money due to not being told the full truth so each time I had to say "yes". Three hours later, after roping a friend in to help me look (he didn't come up with anything either) I stumbled across a well-known supermarket who are now offering car insurance. They insured me straight away for £784. Lovely. It's still not as cheap as my dad's but it's better than nothing at all and certainly better than £2000.
After I'd sorted the insurance, Lauren and I took Paddy for a walk in the park. I took a loaf of bread to feed the ducks and we all enjoyed ourselves. At one point, we were feeding a load of ducks on the edge of the lake and a massive swan joined us for some food. Paddy was curious to get a closer look at the swan, having never seen one before. As he edged closer, the swan started hissing at him and he jumped back, scared. It was hilarious. The swan took an instant disliking to Paddy and carried on hissing at him the whole time we stood there. Poor Paddy was only being friendly and curious and he looked really sad each time the swan was horrible but it did make us laugh. When we got home, Paddy crashed out on the floor and has only moved to have his dinner and go out for a wee. He then walked thick black mud through the whole house. Not good on cream carpet. I'm waiting for it to dry and then I'm going to attempt to hoover it up. Jordan and all the boys have gone to a nightclub tonight. Due to being in great pain again, I am giving it a miss. Instead, Russ is coming over to watch a film. He's got a drum lesson in the morning so doesn't want a heavy one tonight either.
I have tomorrow off and then I am working Wed and Thurs (assuming my back isn't still hunched to the point that I can't stand up straight). Hopefully Friday I will be able to pick my new car up. I was supposed to pick it up tomorrow but the paperwork is now not going to be finished until Friday. I never realised how mush fuss was involved in buying an import car! I thought it arrived on the boat, got registered and then you could pick it up. Not so. Anyway, I now have a meeting tomorrow with a financial advisor to talk about what the best thing to do with my money is and then I am going to either spend the afternoon lying down (if my back is still awful) or working on my novel if I can sit properly to type.
Russ will be here any minute so I'm off to try and hoover the muddy floor. By the way, Kenzie passed his driving theory test last Thursday. I spoke to him over the weekend. He's now going to do a crash course of driving lessons and will hopefully be on the road very soon. He said he'll come and visit this weekend. I'm very happy that he passed, I knew he would though. I mean, lets be honest; it's not hard! I didn't take the theory cos it didn't exist when I did my driving test but I did take the theory when I took my motorbike test. It was very easy. You just have to have common sense to pass it. Even so, I did do a little bit of revision for it and so did Kenzie. In fact, when I spoke to him a few days before the test, he was sitting revising from a highway code book! Bless.
Have a nice evening.........
Jodie
